Chakras

English: Chakra picture produced by AuraStar20...

Chakras, in Hindu metaphysical tradition and other belief systems, are centers of Prana , life force, or vital energy. Chakras correspond to vital points in the physical body i.e. major plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves. Texts and teachings present different numbers of chakras.

Their name derives from the Sanskirt word for “wheel” or “turning”, but in yogic context a better translation of the word is ‘vortex or whirlpool’.

Chakra= wheel =]

The concept of chakra features in tantric and yogic traditions of Hinduism  and Buddhsim.

Many Pagans, Wiccans and Neo-pagens believe in the chakra power and different forms of protection threw different uses of minerals and semi-precious stones.

Here is my own personal chakra balancing technique-   Of course the chakras are metaphysical and not actually seen on the body.

Being pure energy and receiving light from the source is not good enough in this world where we are forever bombarded with so many things, so many hurts and pains, losses and knockbacks and the basic every day living that we have to do. Therefore when you can make a space for yourself with the lights low or in candlelight, with your joss sticks on or incense burner glowing let us take some time to work on these centres.

Let us start at the bottom with The Root Chakra.

This Chakra is Red

Have the crystals ready beside you for the second part of the clearing.

For this chakra I choose Hematite and Red Calcite.

Imagining the release of negative energy and blockages for every chakra we lie down and relax, taking deep breathes in and out, in and out and keep this up for two minutes feeling more relaxed and de-stressed as we go.

The Three Breaths

Then imagine all you wish to remove from that chakra as a dark coloured circle swirling around and taking a deep breath be ready to push it out with the out breath……..out and

away from your body, …when your out breath has been used up, take a deep breath ready to go again and once again on the out breath visualise the breath pushing the dark out of your body, do this one more time and really visualise.

When you have completed the three breaths to remove all from the root chakra say, out loud, three times; “All negativity and blockage is now removed from my root chakra”.

Next is The Sacral chakra,

This Chakra is orange.

The crystals I choose for this chakra are orange citrine and moonstone.

Repeat the above for the root chakra three times, exactly and when you have finished say

“all negativity and blockage is now removed from my sacral chakra”.

Next is The Solar Plexus.

This chakra is Yellow.

The crystals i use for the Solar Plexus are Peridot and Yellow Beryl. You may also use Sulphur if you do not have any of the above.

As before take the three breaths to cleanse the Solar Plexus.

Then recite “All negativity and blockage are now removed from my Solar Plexus”

Next is The Heart Chakra

This Chakra is Green

The crystals I use at the Heart Chakra are Rose Quartz and Aventurine.

As before take the three breaths to cleanse the Heart Chakra and then recite “All negativity and blockage are now removed from the Heart Chakra”.

Next is The Throat Chakra.

This Chakra is Blue

At the Throat Chakra I use Sodalite and Blue Lace Agate.

As before use the three breaths to cleanse the Throat Chakra and again say “All negativity and blockage are removed from my Throat Chakra”

Next is The Brow or Third Eye Chakra.

This Chakra is Purple

The crystals I use for the Third Eye Chakra are Amethyst and Luvulite.

Once again use the three breaths to cleanse the Third Eye Chakra and say; “All negativity and blockage is removed from my Third Eye Chakra”.

Lastly The Crown Chakra.

This Chakra is White Light

At the Crown Chakra I use Selinite and Clear Quartz.

For the final time use the three breaths to cleanse the Chakra and complete the affirmation saying “All negativity and blockage is now removed from my Crown Chakra”.

Energising

When the above cleansing and clearing has been done we move on to drawing into each of the chakras pure light and energy.

Place your crystals on each chakra, two inches above your head for the Crown as this is the only one that is just off the body. The others to be placed next to each other.

Starting from the top in this case. We ask the Lords of Light to send white light to us and we imagine a large ball of white energy forming above us. Then take a thick strand of light from the ball and bring it down and into the Crown Chakra asking your crystals to help you visualise this light and to enlarge the light and to direct this light into the Crown Chakra. See the light drawn into the chakra and then imagine the light in the colour of the chakra you are energising. See it as swirling coloured light for all of the chakras except for the Crown where the light stays as white and pure.

So we visualise the same thing at each chakra except for the colour which will be the colour corresponding to the Chakra. We ask the crystals to energise and help us with the visualisation and to magnify your thoughts.

When you have finished your energising at each chakra and are happy you have done your best then say aloud “My Crown Chakra is clear and pure and filled with energy” and “My Third Eye Chakra is clear and pure and filled with energy”. Follow this same form all the way down to the Root Chakra.

Note:

Many of you will have found in books etc. that crystals vary at each chakra. The above are crystals that I like to use on my chakras, they are my personal choice and work well but if you would prefer a certain crystal at a certain chakra then please do use it as there is no fast and hard rule but of course the colour code is good to follow as the colour of the crystal will resonate with each chakra.

I hope you enjoy cleansing and energising your chakras. It is a short and easy exercise, which if done regularly, will help to keep you in good health and mentally alert.

There is no need to spend hours on this exercise. Have the crystals ready, cleansed and charged and if you are unsure how to do that you will find it in Crystal Corner so you are all set up.

Lower Chakras:

There are said to be a series of seven chakras below muladhara going down the leg, corresponding the base animal instincts, and to the Hindu underworld patala. They are called atala, vitala, sutala, talatala, rasatala, mahatala and patala.

  • Atala-This chakra is located in the hips, it governs fear and lust.
  • Vitala-Located in the thighs, it governs anger and resentment.
  • Sutala-Located in the knees, it governs jealousy.
  • Talatala-Translated as ‘under the bottom level’, it is located in the calves, and it is a state of prolonged confusion and instinctive wilfulness.
  • Rasatala-Located in the ankles, it is the centre of selfishness and pure animal nature.
  • Mahatala-Located in the feet, this is the dark realm ‘without conscience’, and inner blindness.
  • Patala-Located in the soles of the feet, this is the realm of malice, murder, torture and hatred, and in Hindu mythology it borders on the realm of Naraka, or Hell.

There are said to be 21 minor chakras which are reflected points of the major chakras. These 21 are further grouped into 10 bilateral minor chakras that correspond to the foot, hand, knee, elbow, groin, clavicular, navel, shoulder and ear. The spleen may also be classified as a minor chakra by some authorities despite not having an associated coupled minor chakra.

Auras: An aura is an energy field that surrounds, penetrates and extends out beyond the physical body, that is electromagnetic, electric and magnetic and is made up of varying types of live and intelligent vibrations or frequencies. An aura surrounds not only every living thing including humans, animals and plants, but also every inanimate thing such as rocks, all objects made by man, and the earth, sun, moon, and all planets in our Universe. The human aura has layers of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual elements.

Auras contain all the primary colors of the rainbow at any given time and change color depending on the emotion an individual is experiencing. Our auras are made up of may colors and many shades of colors that are constantly changing. This reflects the constant change in our thoughts and emotions.

Happy and loving thoughts expand your aura while sad or angry thoughts contract your aura. Aura sizes adjust depending on the density of the population where you live. Residents of New York City have tighter and smaller auras in comparison to residents living in rural Vermont. A dowser can easily tell you many of the physical qualities of your aura which can help you to healing your chakras.

blessed be!
